I lover RPG's and this style. I can purchase it currently for 25% off at Green Man Gaming. However there are so many negative reviews on Steam, I was surprised. Is this worth buying/playing or should I wait for the sale? I have the original but do not know if there is a trainer for this. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated. Cheers

If you never played Fable then you should get this game.
If you played it back in the day then this will be a nice bit of nostalgia...
The only reason you shouldn't play this game is if you have played every fable game 50 times and found every item/chest in each. Even then this game has a heroic mode that makes it a bit more fun.

People are just *****ing because it is the original engine. They were expecting a complete remake and that isn't what this is. This is a re-release with an added graphics engine (unreal) on top. It looks great if you disable DOF settings in the correct ini files.

Or maybe, like the idiots most people who write reviews on steam seem to be, they just did a review on the most basic settings - the graphics aren't that good unless you set those to the max levels

That's very helpful. I haven't played the Lost Chapters so will probably purchase Anniversay very soon.
I agree there are a lot of frustrated pre pubescant trolls on Steam who think they know everything. But sometimes when games are negatively reviewed they can be right also.
I was confused in this instant though.

I played Lost Chapters a long time ago, and it was definitely a fun game. If the Anniversary Edition is just the same game with better graphics, and you've already played the original version, then you can probably wait for a sale or something.
But if there are new gameplay elements (other than another difficulty mode)...

So far it seems it is mostly just a harder difficulty and the DLC items. IDK if there are non-DLC items that are new.
The DLC items are really cool, but completely remove the incentive to collect keys as some of these items are better than the ones in higher level locked chests.
The first sword I bought was the same damage as the master longsword, but had 2-3 enchantments on it.
