Which distribution? Steam? Gog? Windows store? Something else? Does the game version matches the version the trainer was made for?

GOG. Game version 3.3. Tried at title screen as well in-game.

The message it gives is: gold, script error in line 1: Cannot find aob for 'originalcode_283257'

It seems that the most recent update correctly attaches to the game, but in King of Cards, infinite health makes boss health infinite too. The gold counter also doesn't work for me.

What is this king of cards, how do I get to it?

Gold works fine. Started new game with shovel knight, pressed hotkey and gold ingame increased.

King of Cards is the new campaign that was added with yesterday's update. You get it just by updating the game. When you start a new game, it asks you to pick a character, and you can press left to select King of Cards/King Knight.

Just to add to what taezou was saying: I also noticed that the infinite health option seems to break attack-interactions with non-enemy objects.

I specifically saw this in the Shovel of Hope campaign (i.e. the vanilla game) in the graveyard level, where I could attack piles of dirt, but they would never be destroyed, and swinging my shovel at the little green bushes you use for platforming would have no effect at all (The latter example impedes progress in the level).

Object behavior returned to normal when the cheat was turned off.

Nope. Still having the same problem. No change in behavior after update. Exact same error, exact same message.

It seems like these options "Infinite Health, Teleporting and mMoving" affects the humanoid enemies and bosses as well as the player.
