Is there a separate trainer for the Game of the Year Edition. If not, which one should I use? Tried most of them but either the trainer won't run or the game crashes.
I am running Win 7, 64 bit, serv pk 1, and IE 11.

Also, where do I look to find out what version of the game I am running? If I look at the properties for the Fallout3.exe file in the Fallout Directory, it says it is version 1.0.0.12. Is that what I need to look for?

How do you get the console to come up? Tried the ~ key and it doesn't work. Tried looking at Options to see if the console needs to be activated there...nope. Is there a command line parameter when you boot up the exe?

Is there a character dat or cfg file that can be modified?

With some resolutions, the console does not actually show. It is to the left of the screen, past the edge. To check if this is the case, press ~ then type about 20 letters in. If you see something on the bottom left of the screen, it is your resolution.

One way around it is to change your resolution to a widescreen resolution, do whatever you want with the console, save, return to your normal resolution.

You could also type in the cheats blindly. As long as they are typed correctly, there will be no problem with them. This is what I have been doing sense I found out that the console was off screen.

goto www.nexusmods.com get the mod manager and DL any of the cheat mods u like.

I only have 2 resolutions available...1280x720
and 1920x1080.Tried both. It is set to the latter.
Aspect ratio is 16:9 widescreen. I have a 26in monitor.

tried both the ~ and the shift ~ and typed in characters/letters. When I typed in normal action keys they performed their normal action.

Is the console disabled for the GOTY edition. I have heard of it being done in other games to stop cheating.

Nope its not since I have the GOTY version. But am surpised you only have two res options also the Console does not really show as a console window like you will expect. There is mods out there. Like what thingy has posted. Which will do the job this same.

But if I remember right. I had another issue on my laptop back then. Where something was blocking it from working.

You might now have a laptop, but hey anything that works is good.

Step 1: Go to your control pannel.

Step 2: Click on the Device Manager.

Step 3: Look for the human interface devices and expand that.

Step 4: Look for the ITECIR and right click and uninstall it. Then play your game.


*Note: There is no need to restart your system after that. If you do it will just install the device again. It appers to be a conflict and will happen with any game when you try to open the console. So follow my steps and you will be fine. Happy gaming and cheating!
