I agree with Toki, i really hope it doesnt turn into an MMO like the elder scrolls series especially ones where they make you pay monthly for a subscription
Fallout wouldn't work as an MMO at all.
I was in talks a while back about 5 months after 3 was released, with the some the old FO crew and some of the Beth Squad about MMO style. There is thoughts about it. But I hope 4 will not be the MMO.
It was mainly who you could play. I pointed for a non story style. Along with the abillity to play all the characters that are possible. Like Vualt dewler, Wastelander, Raider, ghoul and Mutant. Some found it interesting tho. Even tho am not an mmo fan. It did have me interested.
Turning this into a MMO would be like what they did to ESO for me. It would simply be a waste of resources IMO.

ESO was Zens online chance to prove themselfs. They did ok. But did not shine out like WoW did. They do have some interesting features and such but they need to be fixed even changed to be better. I ruled out all the inital going live issues as they are expected. But time will tell if Zens online team sort it.
I also do not want to see Fallout become an MMO. I honestly prefer games that are single-player. I would like to play as the Commonwealth or even a raider. Random encounters would be awesome. Especially if some of them are Easter eggs. Finally, have Dogmeat as a companion. Yes, he is weak for combat, but his scrounging ability was awesome.
I prefer the SP games to even in Beths line up as you can usually mod them. But one thing I do not want in the game. Is pointless Easter eggs. They are better off focusing on the game. Dog made me make a mad max stly character. Other than that. I hated him as a TP.

Toki, You are correct about a Fallout MMO. In 2007 when Interplay, the publishers of the original Fallouts (Fallout 1, 2 and Fallout Tactics), sold the rights to the franchise to Bethesda, they were granted the rights to make a Fallout MMO. They also retained the rights to market and sell the original 3 games. This game was called "Project V13" and Interplay was working with Masthead Studios to complete it. As the years passed, an MMO was not forthcoming from Interplay, again because of a money crunch. Then in 2009, Interplay was sued by Bethesda for breach of contract, because a Fallout MMO had not been released. When the case was settled, Bethesda gained ALL the rights to the Fallout franchise, and Interplay could no longer sell the original series after Dec 31, 2013. That is why you can no longer purchase the original 3 games.
About Dogmeat. I can understand your frustration. He can be kind of dumb. I used him as a follower when I got bored, just to see what he would do.
I agree with your statement about easter eggs. They can be over done and prevent the developers from doing a proper job on the game. I was thinking along the lines of the more subtle easter eggs that were woven into the storyline gameplay of both Fallout 1 and 2.
i dint mean Multi Player,i meant NPC followers in the games that should have great and useful inteligence.

If there is going to be more NPC followers. A better AI will be needed. Also more control on them to. Including some actaul detailed story lines to them. To actually feel more connected to them so you are not just using them as fodder to help you kill the enemy.
As for story lines I think they should be long ones. As I did say detailed. At least up to or even past the end bit of the game.
