I read an interview with one of the manager on Steam VAC. He said he could not say how VAC works in detail, but they analysed primarily 3 things:
* The first thing they check is the values of the game to see if there are unexplained changes (such as spikes or drops such and such values). For example: + 999999 extra money.
* The second thing they check have trophies or awards. They check if the trophies are obtained in order and if they are attainable for a normal player at certain points of the game.
* The third thing they check is specific to cheathappens.com (I think). They analyze the online authentication trainer when you activate it. When you activate the trainer in online mode the software check to see if you are using your specific trainer. They check this trace, this link to detect you .
I hope this message will help cheathappens and their team. Besides, if Wizard, Caliber and 0x90 could take a look at this post I think will be good.

Such horse****, do you believe pigs can fly as well?
I have personally used all options while being online (not while invaded) and i have yet to be banned or blacklisted.
Valve also stated that they may permanently terminate your account if you buy cd keys from non authorized CD-key resellers, i have over 300 games on my steam account that has been aquired from resellers for over 6 years. As long as you don't buy keys that was stolen or activated by using vpn there is little Valve can do.
I personally saved thousands of dollars by cutting Valve out as the middleman, i don't plan on paying 50 euro for a single game ever when i can get it for 25$ elsewhere.

I use a trainer in offline mode (god mode and souls to buy things) and have a question.
My SL is now 176 and my SM is 3,9mil, is it ok for 1,3mil souls banked? I wanna do PvP with this character but i don't wanna get banned. If i do PvP i play without the trainer.
