As you can see I have more than enough horsepower to play this game. But it's severely un-optimized and stutters/lags no matter what settings I use. I've tried very low and very high and even customized graphics. It doesn't matter.

I've heard guards talking in the main city area after the first mission and one of them asks "What does a 3rd offense get you" and the other guard response "The noose" or something to that effect. When the first guard asks, "What does the 3rd offense get you" the audio is screwed up and he says it again at the same time the other guard says "The noose".

I've noticed some textures popping/flickering. I know it's not just me because I've seen it in some youtube videos showing the benchmark test. The posters on the right-hand side flicker and distort. I've noticed this when looking up at the clock tower after leaving Basso's bar. The clock face disappears/flickers and then comes back.

Cutscenes always seem to stutter/lag for me as well. Not constantly but a hiccup here and there.

Looking through keyholes takes a lot of mouse movement. Same thing with searching the edges of paintings looking for the hidden buttons.

I've read that this game was optimized with ATI/AMD cards in mind. Hopefully they will release a patch soon for the game bugs and Nvidia will release an optimized driver. I really want to play and enjoy this game but I'm not going to ruin the game for myself by forcing it when it's just not fun due to all the bugs and graphical issues.

I actually ran into this problem. I did two things and they stopped actually. One was changing my resolution down a notch. I had it at 1366x786 to like default 1280 whatever and the other was clicking on the box at the starting of the menu in options. When you want to change things before truly playing it, that menu options. Clicking on the exclusive full screen box, it settled it nicely for me and I do have nvidia and its an old one and I am running it smoothly at 60. How old you ask? GTX 295 dual sli on one card.

Well nothing new there, I have extremely powerful machine and almost every new game out there stutters here and there, then come the endeless patches, one patch will fix it and then maybe the next one ruins it again..
This has become an epidemic in the gaming world, freakin unfinished games made by lazyass devs that work in a freakin greedy companies!

I always complained about people complaining about having lag and stutter, Because I never get it. I don't wanna say anything bad, but memory is usually the biggest issue. Some does have leaks, but due to the high amount of memory I got. I don't have to care for it, I think it's very playable and streamable which I did. But one thing I know that works. Decrease graphics to low or something then you can play without trouble.

I have 16gb of ram 1600hz, most of the games dont need more than 8gb.
If other demending games run smoothly and some doesnt than it can be a software issue or a bad driver issue usually a display driver.
I bought the gtx770 week after it came out, it took Nvidia about 4 months to release a proper driver for it.
Also many new games now run smooth after several patches, in the release notes it's also mentioned that the lagging or stuttering issues have been resloved for some setup's.

Don't know what to tell you. My computer is about 1/2 that in ram and drive space, but it runs perfectly smooth once I changed the resolution to match the monitor default (hd 50" TV). Never had an issue with sound like that.

The only issue I have is the messed up shaking that happens with clothing in cinematic scenes, that is weird and annoying.

Also, the distance for activating things is weird. I had to change the FOV to below 80 to make the game look ok, otherwise it was like looking out of a fish bowl.

The game was just released and they will patch a lot of this stuff and surprisingly I have yet to find any game breaking bugs or anything major besides the usual sound bug or some graphical stuttering here and there. I say be happy that you got a game in this good of condition upon release when you look bad at some of the horrible game launches in the past year.

I myself could play it on max settings with no problems and thats using a card with broken drivers(which Nvidia won't fix....bastards).

Hi guys, about the Lagging issue. I have a Intel i7 Processor running windows 7 with 16gig ram and a GTX680 Graphics card, I had the settings on high, and i found a bit of initial lag; but then i changed the settings to normal and it got slightly better performance. I also noticed that if you change your slider to " performance " mode in your Nvidia Control panel or to " balanced" setting, it also helps with the Performance Graphics issue.
I guess that the Developers will patch the game and eventually solve these issues. We shall see. Thanks CH.
