that error is generally a violation of access error. the trainer is being blocked by something or cannot write to the game .exe because something is not allowing it to do so..
best,
Cal
It's the trainer. The customization gives the trainer a specific game related name "thf" = "thief" + a short name of the username "hind". I assume your trainer would be named "thf-cal" or something like that.

Actually it uses full username, only the game name is shortened.
Side note: This is for discussion only, I'm not asking for anything from the staff here. If you have suggestions feel free
It's interesting, I used to play Thief with the 1st trainer and Steam version fine; second trainer after a patch fine; and the third trainer and latest patch WAS working fine as well. I think it was last weekend, or that Friday prior, that I noticed guards saw me, etc.. and the trainer, although saying it was activated and running, wasn't communicating with the game apparently.
Being a software/IT guy in my late 40's who's edited code to hack since my AOL Neverwinter Nights days :P this annoyed me to some great degree, so I did the following to date:
Tried Thief on 3 different computers; 2 different Operating systems (2 running 8.1 Pro 1 Win 7 Pro); and the trainer would activate and see the game running but not function on any of them.
I checked for any new software installations, firewalls, scanners, etc.. all the typical crap and made sure nothing was new, enabled, installed, etc.. still no trainer love for me on any machine.
I'm thinking, it has to be a MS update.. a .NET maybe or a Malicious Software Removal Tool thing.. so I will experiment on a machine and restore back a few weeks to see if that resolves the issue. If anyone cares, I'll post via an edit to this shortly. Any other suggestions are appreciated
Thanks
Jeff
Note: Well, the Recovery back a couple weeks didn't do anything. Being anal about this now, I'm going to my Lab room and wipe a desktop and clean install 7 Pro and test.

thief trainer downloaded from the website, tested with legit steam version..
I was able to takedown guards right next to each other and run around them..
trainer is working with no crashes.
best,
Cal
