Well, its always best to start in China.

Any country with both a harbor and an airport, really. If I recall correctly, Egypt is quite good as well - two harbors and an airport, plus it can spread through Asia and Africa by land.

Greenland, Germany or Poland.

Greenland because they just refuse to die most of the time, Germany or Poland because entire Europe becomes red shortly after infecting one of those 2.

Greenland is especially a good choice for fungus (at least in my case) since they're always the only ones left standing.

well, china has 1.4b people in it, india being a close second with 1.3b people, i always start with china, it quickly moves to india, which means 2.7b are infected, which is virtually 50% of the population, well, almost.

I start in madagascar. granted it takes a little longer but not much.

Greenland is the worst to try to infect. If you don't infect it before Russia, Sweden, and Norway close the seaports its pretty much Gameover for anything except fungus, because if you save enough points at the end you can actually devolve then evolve the spore burst that can save you if you have everyone but greenland infected.

Starting in greenland is pretty bad too. It only has about 50k people and accessible only by seaport it can take forever to infect those 50k and then will only spread to three countries from its start location, it is not advisable to run the nanovirus or bioweapon here.

Greenland,Madagascar,Philippines,and New Guinea seem to be the worse imho, for some reason though Iceland and New Zealand i have had no problem with this is with both plague inc (android/ios) and plague inc evolved
