First, thanks for the 2.12 trainer update.

It doesn't seem to work. When the trainer is activated, Nothing happens in the game. As in, when you place your main base at the beginning, everything just freezes. You can still click on things in the game, but it's like it's perpetually paused.

There is no indication that the game is actually paused, however.


I haven't activated any of the cheats, just F1 at the main menu and starting a new game. Game runs fine without activating trainer.

Did you run the trainer with admin rights and created exclusion rules for the trainer exe and the folder located here -> C:\Users\YourWindowsUserName\Cheathappens\Work\ ?

Hi Taurusplopp. I'm experiencing the same issue, the same symptoms, and have done as suggested. Added exclusions, run as administrator, even disabled all firewalls/antivirus entirely.

Load the game, activate trainer, then when you start a new level or load an old one, it's kind of a crapshoot as to when it's going to fake 'pause' everything, even without activating any cheats, but it inevitably happens. Some of my saves are fake-paused every time.

Please provide a savegame with exact and easily repeatable instructions so we can reproduce the issue

Provide the location of the save file, what situation it is in the game, what trainer option to choose that is not working -> write this in your new post where you upload your save file

Create a new post, click Attach file/paper clip icon below the main text box, select the zipped file and submit your post as usual

I don't think it has to do with a saved game since multiple people are having the same issue. I am as well, all that is required to reproduce it is to run the trainer, start the game, press F1 at the main menu as you are supposed to, then go into any mission. As soon as the base lands the game will sort of freeze up. You can still click on things, place things to build, etc. And the timer continues to increase. But nothing moves, nothing is built, energy is frozen, creeper is frozen.

The easily repeatable instructions are:
01: Start Trainer
02: Start Game
03: Press F1 at start menu
04: Launch any mission/map
05: Place base
06: Unpause game to start

Game is now sort of frozen.

And why are so many people reporting this and no one filed a report about it?

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

I just submitted a report. I'm having the same issue.

If someone else could test the first sector, second mission and see if it works there.

I didn't experience the freezing issue until the second sector and the trainer worked as intended in the first sector. It looks like something in the code changes when you leave the first sector and we may need to submit saves to see if each new sector will break a trainer.

I'll start from the beginning.

This morning I started playing a clean install of the game. I activated the trainer at the main menu and played story mode, sector 1, planet 1 without any cheats activated and had no issues. I played planet 2 with all the cheats activated and they worked without any issues.

I moved on to sector 2, planet 1 and experienced the same issues that other users did. Once you drop your Command building the game will pause the Creep and all player activity but you can still drop buildings. This is not dependent on if cheats are activated or not.

I went back and replayed the first planets in sector one that previously worked and getting the same pausing after dropping the command building.

The saves are stored here c:\Users\YOUR_USER\Documents\creeperworld3. The game saves each planet as an individual save and to replay it you overwrite the old save.

I have reset the progress in the game numerous times and it doesn't fix the problem. The only time I had the trainer work was activating the cheats on a clean install of the game.

0x90 should be able to reproduce our experience by attempting to replay a level and/or advancing to the second sector. If it's a clean install it may work first the time you activate the cheats as it did for me but I can reproduce the problem every time by simply having the trainer activated.

My current saves are all less than 30 seconds into a level. Once you drop the Command building it's basically game over so I'm not sure how helpful they would be unless 0x90 isn't able to reproduce the problem in the stated steps.
