I recently got DAOrigins from steam, I am running the Windows 8 OS and I have followed all the steps for accessing the console commands that I can find but nothing is working. I tried changing the target line on the shortcut method. adding the line in the DAOrigins Launcher and that doesnt work, I also set the keybinding to the ~ key as well as several other combinations but none of these have worked for me. does anyone have any advice? Also I recently tried using trainers but they dont seem to be working. I get the audio to the trainer saying its working but there is no effect ingame to show its working.

I'm having similar issues with the console commands, and I'm running it via Steam in Windows Vista. I think the problem is probably connected to how Steam launches the game, but I'm not 100% sure.
If both aren't working I can only recommend modding the game as a compromise. There are plenty of mods out there that come close to doing what the trainers do if you look hard enough. It's a shame to have to resort them, as I said in another post I only have to because the trainer won't run with my mods that improve the atmosphere (eg NPCs not looking like zombies).
That being said, if you got it recently make sure you do at least one play through without mods and such. Honestly, it will ruin the experience to mess with the game on your first try.
