How to use Blueprints?

I've picked up a couple blueprints from some vendors and can't find where to put them to use so they are just eating up inventory space at the moment. Any tips on use would be appreciated.

Silly me, use it just like you eat food or swing a weapon... I was trying to add it to the crafting devices.

The really odd bit is that you appear to EAT banages to heal wounds.... I guess to stop internal bleeding
