I put no faith in their testing as I've had more repairs in with Bit Defender, Norton, Kapersky, and McAfee supposedly protecting the computers, yet they are the one's most infected.
Obviously, I see Norton and McAfee most, but actually see MSE, AVG, and Avast least.
Additionally, they scored MSE lowest on zero day, not overall. In order for an AV to get certification, it has to total a minimum of 11, MSE scored 10.5. Given that Bitdefender's Internet Security 2013 scored a total of 17 whereas Kaspersky's Internet Security 2013 scored a 15, they are both internet security packages, not just antivirus. This invalidates the whole scoring system in my eyes. It's like comparing a base model car to a ultra luxury sedan and complaining the base model isn't fast enough.
The problem with the Internet Security Suites, is people don't understand the prompts and allow just everything. That's more hazardous than MSE, especially since it scored perfectly in the false alerts and false positive area.
I agree with most of what you said but I won't use an anti-virus when the company that makes it says people should switch to something else. I don't think that Microsoft said it because of the score,They always just blew off those scores so I think they have another reason. I used it for quite some time and recommended it until I read that article. I just went back to Avast.
