New patch just came out. I love how steam still updated SoD even though I told it not to.
Your game will never update on steam so long as you never play it again and turn off automatic updates. Every time you play the game again it automatically tells steam to turn automatic updates back on for that game.
It's a pointless system really unless you have lots of games on your system that you're not currently planning on playing for awhile and don't want a million games downloading updates eating up your bandwidth.
So lets say you have 30 games installed on your hard drive and you're only playing State of Decay. You can turn off automatic updating for all the other 29 games on your hard drive and they will never update. If you turn off automatic updating for State of Decay, it won't update until you start the game again.
Its not pointless it helps with people who have installed a lot of titles and don't want them all updating as soon as steam starts.

NUM 6 Unlimited Durability cant works for me!!
My melee weapon still break after i press it...
You need to turn off the option before you pick up a weapon or put it into your inventory from the shared storage lockers. Then turn it back on.
While, in my experience, it doesn't grant total unlimited durability, it does make them last longer than if you weren't using the trainer.
