My brother is sending me some documents in which my signature is needed, so I have to print them, sign them then scan them, however I do not have black ink in my printer, so I have to print them in another color but due to the nature of the documents I have to send them in black. (official/government/university scholarship type stuff)
Question: How do I scan something that is in color and then change it to black in the PDF/whatever file?
Reason why I didn't Google it is because I was unsure of whether "Scanning in grey scale" is the most appropriate term for the Google search engine regarding this matter.
thanks

When you scan the document it will be a .jpg (or other image format).
Go to Link and try that website to make it grayscale

if you have GIMP, use the threshold tool in the colors menu
