I can't get this to run and I exceed the recommended requirements. The Steam forum is averaging a complaint such as mine every 5 minutes at the present time!

Try going into the properties for the exe file and set it to run in compatible mode for Windows 7. It kept crashing on me until I did that. Now it appears to work sometimes for me, which is better than not at all until it is patched.

Not sure why you're not able to run the game on highest settings. I have an old BFG 680i motherboard with a Q6600 quad core processor which is really old and I still run this flawlessly. What are your specs for your computer and what settings are you running the game on. I to have 64 bit Windows 7
Dell XPS 9100
i7 CPU X990 @3.47 Ghz
24 GB Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
AMD Radeon HD 5870 1 GB GDDR5
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD PCIe Sound Card
All drivers up to date.

Tried your suggestion, didn't work. Thanks for trying to help though. When I run the game I get a little window that pops up and disappears so quick I can't read it. Then nothing.
