I completely agree. What is all of this for the money cheat though? It seems that some of you figured it out, but I've never heard of any of this...
Please let Rome II triumph over Steam regulations...please. It was a mistake connecting the game with Steam anyways. It should have been a separate program folder, just like the good old days of gaming. It's like companies are attempting to forge permanent gaming systems INTO computers: that only work with certain games.
50 bucks says that you will eventually have to pay for two separate game options when buying an Xbox or PS#, that you only get one or the other, and to have both is extremely expensive, when they both support the same games but run separate servers from each other. Battlefield 3 for example. You can already see it happening just between computers alone, not to mention between computers and the Xbox...
pluse I have v1.6.0 witch is that is right 1 still not working
That would be typical of a game on steam. It really has become a monopoly. As a launch server for multiplayer its great but from the good old days of buying a game installing it and playing away to your hearts content to steams annoying auto patch system which can take ages at the most inconveiniant times to the locked release dates being banned from accounts for using cheats in single player and the creation of download centres. Its a complete money making market now. Every month we will see a new faction for sale. Bring back the good old simple cheat systems and files you could play about with and edit.
I have always said, VALVE and STEAM are no more than money grabbing parasites who do nothing but take your money, and then crash your game and money and game are gone. I've had it happen several times with various games. Why so many companies use these crooks I have no idea. I have posted warnings about this on Face Book and encouraged people not to buy games using Steam as a 3rd party downloader but, guess no one listens. Too many kiddies out there, having their cookies and milk to pay attention I guess. I only buy or download games which are non Steam affiliated and if it ever comes to a point in which all games want to become aligned with these rogues, then they will also be rogues in my opinion and I will get out of the gamming business except for older games which I already own.
