Beginning OCTOBER 1, 2013, a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP will be required to download trainers for games that have received more than *20* trainer updates during their lifetime. Note that only trainer #20 and above will require the lifetime account. Regular yearly and trial users will still be able to download all trainers for the game up to the 21st update.
The reason for this change is that when we priced our membership, we didn't plan on having to produce 20+ trainers for a single game. When you pile all these updates on top of new games which also patch daily, it snowballs into a massive amount of work each day. It doesn't help that the majority of members expect us to release an updated trainer within about 3 hours of each game patching or being released.
For example, in JULY 2012, we released 64 trainers. In JULY 2013 we released 179 trainers. That's a 280% increase in the number of trainers that we had to release in order to keep up with new games and patches. In the first six months of 2012, we released 376 trainers. In the first six months of 2013 we released 897 trainers. Again, a 240% increase. We had to hire an additional programmer and have not raised membership prices to adjust for these additional expenses.
So that members not requiring access to these trainers are not hit with a membership hike, we made the decision to require a LIFETIME membership in order to download these excessive updates. You guys expect more out of us, so we expect a little more support out of you. This also keeps us from having to add an additional layer of membership beyond LIFETIME. We feel this is the most fair course of action and should allow us to continue supporting these games that require more attention than others. The alternative is to simply retire games after 20 trainers.
Ultimately you guys should be complaining to the game developers for making you pay full price for a game that obviously was not finished or tested properly. If a single game requires 20+ patches to make it playable, something isn't right.
