Some are 4-byte addresses, others are rounded Doubles. No consistency, just search for both, you'll usually get the right addresses the first time you scan, as there's rarely such a specific large number floating around.
They're actually 4-byte, Double AND Float and sometimes even 8-byte. Do the challenge until you reach a nice high score that doesn't end in 000. For instance 52,493 is a good score for this purpose, 5,000 is not. Make sure when you search for the score that you search for 4-byte, 8-byte Double AND Float values and just drop down in the list everything you find (I noticed that a second scan messed up the process), this is the reason you need a high score that doesn't end in 000, because you don't want to end up with 100+ results on each scan. When you do the scan and modify the values, make sure there is no combo meter or counter on the screen, after you get a "searchable" score make sure you wait for the combo timer/counter to expire before you actually search for the score. If you'll follow these tips, modifiying scores will work 95% of the time.

been trying this on some speed rifts and no matter how many attempts I make, I can never get the numbers to change.
