I'm with TheGrube on this in a way but for different reasons.

So I've gone back replayed some of my older games. Been having a blast with STALKER - Shadow of Chernobyl with the 2009 Complete mod. There's a complete mod for each of the 3 Stalker games in the series now that vastly improve them graphically and by adding extra content and fixing game crashing bugs. Haven't had a crash yet with the Shadow of Chernobyl 2009 Complete mod.

Improves the original game a lot but keeps it intact. Such a creepy depressing game world though but that's what makes it good and scary along with those snorks that just come out of nowhere and leap at you. A real crap your pants moment to say the least.

But the shooting (gun fights with bandits and the such) are just so awesome. So many guns, weapons, weapon mods, etc. I recommend adding a mod to make guns more powerful though. I hate that the original version took so many shots to kill someone or creatures.

    wrong thread?

Does the character you're using to administer the trauma kit have a high enough skill to use it.

    It's under Intelligence then BioTech.

btw, Medkit is for healing and a trauma kit is for an unconscious companion, if they stay incapacitated for too long they're history and you can't save them.

Guess I'm the opposite of most people on voice acting. I'm happy to have voice acting in cut scenes, but when it comes to the rest of the in game dialogue I prefer none. Not because the actors are bad, but because the writing gets worse. Go back and look at some of the dialogue in a game like morrowind and then compare it to the short 1-2 liners you get in oblivion. This is what happens when games get fully voice acted. You lose a lot of dialogue.

Hey, that's fine for people with adhd though right?

    Edit
Another example of something along these lines. Dragon age origins vs da2. The adoption of the wheel in da2 meant dialogue was much simpler and shorter. I think the wheel works fine in mass effect, but that sort of crap really needs to stay the heck out of other games. It's also amusing how your character never actually says what you want it to in da2, and sometimes what's said is different than what you thought you were choosing with the wheel. I'll take "planescape: torment" any day over any AAA modern rpg you want to put up against it.

The wheel takes out the options of using your brain to solve dialogue puzzles.
