Civilization 5: Brave New World Message Board  

Since the initial release of Civilization 5, certain scenarios acknowledge the trainer, yet are not effected by the numpad commands. This continued with Gods and Kings and now with Brave New World. Why does the trainer not work with certain scenarios?

I think it has to do with changes when a new expansion comes out. I noticed the same thing happened when I loaded a game I had started before the expansion. Trainer was acknowledged and "activated" was said when pushing the numbers, but the commands didn't work. I think maybe the old scenarios are stuck in the original format??

Notice this too was going to ask the same thing yesterday, at first thought the trainer was broken or some update had gone through.. Trainer seems to work reg single player but not on the scenarios. Activates but when hit the numpad buttons nothing happens, say the "activates/works" sound but has no effect.

It would be great if it could work in scenarios too, thanks.

I've tried looking for something that worked with scenarios without being overly complicated, but so far haven't found anything.

I don't remember this working with any of the expansion scenarios. Real shame too. If just one small part could work, it would be helpful.

If you are playing a scenario from the Gods and Kings expansion or the vanilla CIV 5 then you have to use the trainers for those particular games. I was having the same problem until I used the trainer for the other games.

1. American Civil War: Fight the “War Between the States” from either the Union or Confederate side as you focus on the critical Eastern theatre of operations between the capital cities of Richmond and Washington.
2. Scramble for Africa: The great colonial powers of the world are scrambling to explore the Dark Continent and extend their reach into its interior. Search for the great natural wonders of the heart of Africa as you explore a dynamically-generated continent each time you play.
