Final Fantasy VII Message Board  

Final Fantasy 7 just came on steam today.
i have not had the chance to try the trainers available, will repost here with confirmation.

That irks me a little. I got the hankering for this game months ago and ended up buying it from Squenix for about the same price, I think. I just like having everything nice and tidy in my Steam library though. I suppose I could just re-buy it...no skin off my nose.

Now that I've decided to do that we may need to talk about that trainer. I remember a huff from last year where the folks here at CH were insulted by another subscriber but I don't recall ever finding out what was said. The end result was what felt like a half-completed trainer where anything you did only affected Cloud's stats and no one else on the team...blah.

The trainer works. Cloud has unlimited HP & MP in battle and his ATB meter is always full. I was also able to add gil at will.

Is it confirmed the current up to date version will work on the steam version?

no, in my case at least, the trainer does not recognize the game.

Has anyone tried using CE on it? Gold, HP etc?

I just tried to use it but it's not working.
Trainer can't launch since it got the error "train can't find the game" :s
It may not be made for Steam

Edit : Just tried it with CoSMOS, i can change the hp and lock it so it just never moved. The gils is easy too. Since i'm a noob i got some difficulties on xp and it seems to me that it's impossible for the "no timer" xD

The trainer does recognize the game for me however it crashes as soon as I press F1.

You can get the save editor to work if you turn off cloud saves in the launcher settings, modify the file then load the game and re-save. You can then turn cloud saves back on if you want (not sure if they are required for achievements or not)
