Yes there's balance changes as well, since it's a 4X game there will probably be numerous tweaks and changes just to game balance as more player feedback is collected, strategy games are pretty difficult to get right when it comes to balance tweaks even after long periods of testing.

Well, it acts like there are 2 locations, one for the showing of the amount and the actual amount, but the only location is the one that just shows the amount, the actual amount is impossible to find..
Does anyone know how the planet class thing works? I wouldn't mind changing my planet to a Huge Terran. Ignoring the fact that the trainer only has Medium class planets, changing a Small into a Medium doesn't seem to work either. Am I doing something wrong?
Well, the trainer options are for the homeworld only and you can change the homeworld in the game via race customization.
When it comes to other worlds you can colonize, the locations are different with each game you play, but in the end, to turn a world into a terran, you need to colonize it.
If you want your homeworld to be a huge terran, then you will need to restart the game, customizing your race to have a huge Terran Class homeworld.
I have tried and from experience, it tends to not take affect, the world will look huge, but you don't get the population changes and thats really the only reason to change the size of a planet is to improve the max population.
So, in the end, to get your homeworld to be a huge terran class planet, you will need to start a new game and customize your race.
