mate as we both aussie... let me tell you something. PS3 games that has been produce to this day. has only reach 50% of the console capability. this game was the example of how far ps3 can still go. xbox one will be no match for ps4.
the resolution in xbox one will be only as good as ps3, or abit better.. the only reason I know or hear why they release ps4 is because, sony has a new plan for us game, to see the real next gen... Xbox will get kill...
so as you ask why don't they use this game for ps4.. so I tell you why.. the next gen will be 10x better than this game, so its up to your TV how much can it withstand to abuse it will give....
let say my uncle friend know a lot about it... I don't wanna get him it to trouble with Sony.
Plenty of PS3 games that have been released that has pushed the hardware limit.
Heavy Rain easily comes first to mind.
The Engine of Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 push the GPU and CPU chip hard.
Skyrim, Arkham City, MGS4 (Rendered cutscenes at 1080p), and so on.
There is plenty.
im not sure where you get the info from DABhand, but from what I know none of those game came close to 60% usage of the console.. but I maybe wrong I not really sure. yes havy rain has push past 60%
it may push the resolution to the max but not the chip or smoothest of the game play.. ( in my view )
if this was xbox 360 it will be super laggy & everything else.
well lets hope for the best... for ps4 I bet the will bring out red ray ( ps 3 is blu ray ) or pink ray
I just play this game and I will say that I HATE the game play itself.. it not my cuppa tea... but I love the view in the game.. its great..

I think you have this impression that the PS3 is equivalent to a high end PC.
Which it isn't.
Skyrim pushed the hardware hard, in many ways.
As did FFXIII, you have to remember most of the game was rendered at 1080p that is serious usage of GPU and CPU.
But Heavy Rain is right up there, they had to deal with at times individual AIs in certain parts of the game. The Rendering done also with full AA was massive, as was the facial tech.
You have to remember that there was one Cell CPU with 8 SPE's, 1 disabled as it wouldn't work with all 8, 6 for devs/games and 1 for the OS. And not only that the console only had 256MB XDR and 256MB GDDR3 for the GPU.
Very minimal compared to todays PCs.
