I ran into the same prob after using megadamage on the shrimp before crossing the log. Reloaded the chapter, refrained from MegaDamage and was back in business.

I can testify that MegaDamage does mess up the scripting in that section going into the church. There is one other section where it does the same thing, the section where you go through the tunnels AFTER the church. There's another "mother monster" there who breaks through a wall for you, so you can continue; if you use MegaDamage there as well, it breaks that scripting (though I'm not sure that's actually a scripting problem). Good luck!

My advice is not to use Mega Damage option at all. You can still have fun without that option guys.
