If game has crash upon using trainer, try

This game has anticheats, scanners, and all sorts of crashing issue. To use the trainer without these issues, there is a 3rd party fix that will allow the trainer to be used and to fix the graphics and anticheats crashes.

Go here:

github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases/download/latest/RE4.zip

download that .zip.

Unzip the .zip and take the file:

dinput8.dll

and place it into your game directory, usually:

C:\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 4 BIOHAZARD RE4

You won't need the other files, unless you want to try the game in VR mode.

Run the game and you will see that an overlay for VR is present. You can close it using the hotkey it tells you once it has finished setting up.

You can then activate the trainer, and hopefully all will go without crashes.

Credits and thanks to PRAYDOG for his work on this title for VR and to allow mods. If there has been a new patch it may take some time for PRAYDOG to update the .dll that allows mods. Give him some time to update it.

I tried this (reframework for resident evil 4) as indicated in the rely above still crashing at F1. Uninstalled all mods. Didn't see the over lay either. Other work arounds? Contacted Praydog who responded with the does not use RE Engine.

The current trainer also does not work For me anymore, but it also looks like that there was a game update in February. Hopefully the failure is not on my side. 😅

This game is 13 years old.. why they updated it again after all this time, who knows.

Highly likely the trainer for previous versions works with previous versions of the game.

There are ways to run previous versions of games with steam using steam console.

That may be your only answer to this until we can get back to updating this super old title, as we have newer titles and games that are more popular in the pipeline ahead of this title.

The trainer is like template 2 out of 10 we have made over the past 25 years.

Most of the trainers that use the oldest templates won't even work for me anymore. Usually it gets an unauthorized user message and shuts down lol. So I'm always glad to see when something is usable through aurora and I don't have to download a seperate trainer that is almost always going to trip anti virus.
