Don't think it is my system as I have complied with your troubleshooting guide and I have also not had any other issues with other games.
Whenever this one is activated the game just crashes reporting that the process has encountered a problem.

Could have patched again or something interfering with it. Check version number.

Since I was having the same problem others are having, I dug into the folder and finally found the main game launcher in the binaries -> Win32 folder
The details for the game and product versions read as follows:
Game Version: 1.0.11540.0
Product Version: 1, 0, 8767, 0
Game was modified as of November 12th, 2016

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.
