When I checked the game it seemed that you didn't have special god abilities, So a trainer could remedy that.

I bought it and decided to go check the forums.

There is NO actual single player mode.

It is online only. The only way to get to SP is to create a multiplayer match, and start it with just yourself in it.

Agreed, but from what I understand of Steam the devs or publisher submit the modes and game description to them and Steam merely arranges the storefront, kind of like a publisher putting text on a game box or case and Walmart putting it on the shelves. (which explains the godawful writing for Sacred Citadel)

This one's squarely on the devs I feel for saying there's an SP mode when there isn't. (Okay, there technically is but it's an online one and I know you lot and your stance on MP cheating)

Also, you can's even start it offline and it has to be in W98 compat mode. Ouch, this is a botched launch if ever I saw one. Hoping it gets better though, the fifteen or twenty minutes of play is fun, just meh about it not being actual offline SP.

EDIT: Waiting to hear back from the dev about if they're planning to include offline SP or not (they were talking internally about addons according to his posts). Having re-read the actual store text, ignoring the modes on the side, it doesn't mention SP anywhere, only coop gaming so it would seem the lack of an offline mode is intentional.

The in game main menu also has no offline option, only quick match (greyed out), create match (which AFAIK is online)

Heard back from the devs

I'll quote an email I got from Nick (the dev) when I asked about offline SP

"Hi there, no there is no offline single player mode, there is only LAN and internet play.

As for your other question about changing the weapon models for each stage of upgrades, it's being discussed internally"

So, straight from the dev's mouth. MP only, I'm starting to think ALTUS (the publisher) gave Steam the wrong modes for their storefront, which wouldn't amaze me.

in lan mode tho technically speaking if you host in much the same way as original C&C series you are facing the AI alone, that is of course unless you let people join your game via lan.

So in a sense there is a single player aspect there but be warned that the game is balanced for MP only so on the later levels you will find yourself quite pressed without cheating to beat the game on higher difficulty modes.

Game just updated today, hope trainer for this game will get updated too
