I already pre-purchased this game a LONG time ago on steam (I think back in Oct or Nov 2012) and I see that we can now play the beta version of it but I'm not one to really play betas so I'm gonna wait till it's an official release later this year, but so far what's your impressions for those who've played it? Is it as good as the first? Better? Worse?

Its Niehter better nor worse. It's acaually more towards diffrent. However its good. Game is amazing so far. Only issue is Bots are a total pita. As in they are too good.

CoH was and still is amazing, i'm looking forward to trying CoH2, if it is no better and no worse, then they have done well to keep it as balanced as the first game.

I agree - the AI even on easy is mighty tough. I could beat even the normal AI in the 1st game but this one is brutal.

A bit more balance is needed I think, but...

I found the problem. AI LOVES to spam morters.

and mortar spam wouldn't be so bad if they weren't overpowered to hell.

Mortars at the moment can 1 shot pretty much everything, including some base buildings (especially MG nests).

and the AI must have economy hax. when i'm waiting to get out 1 conscript units, the enemy (and allies of player) are churning out troops like there is no tomorrow.

I didnt know the Soviets and Nazi's had cloning vats.....

It really is difficult with the AI when playing on any difficulty. Even with the trainer it felt the other side was still at an advantage. My first game I was trying to build russian conscripts in the first 5 minutes while the germans were already sending tanks at me. The mortars are definitely a problem as heavy mortars will 1-shot tanks. the germans do seem to be a bit OP, especially the commander tree that has the Tiger tank. The Tiger is still as powerful as it was in CoH, but this time there is no limit to the number you can build as long as you still have population points, and of the 100 you start with, the tiger only takes up 13.

Agreeing with the posts above, I think it's shaping up well. Many of the new features are very entertaining, though sometimes have a devastating outcome. At first I was struggling, but after playing a bit I really enjoy it.
