I was pretty sure that wouldn't fix it, and after going through those steps exactly, I was right. I doubt it's anything on my end--the trainer is simply looking for the steam version of the executable, and that isn't present on my machine. Fairly certain that there needs to be a GOG only version, or the trainer needs to be recoded to ignore the steam version if it detects the GOG exe.
You should note, before it said it was looking for a player module for the steam executable, now it is looking for an item module, and still not finding that steam executable to lookup this library reference information.
So following steps to disable my virus software worked with pretty much every trainer. But I guess since this is a newer trainer, its back to working for a few minutes before crashing. Does anyone know how to fix it because the steps in support are not helping.
You can't truly disable an anti-virus anymore, if it's 3rd party you need to uninstall it completely and then add the exclusions to Defender in Windows. Or, just go to the support site for your anti-virus on how to allow things to pass through it. They have all changed so much that every A/V has a different method to follow.
If it's Bitdefender, F-secure or Webroot, best to just take it out behind the barn and shoot it. Then burn the remains... 🙈
