I recently tried this game again and saw that there were some nice MODs you could add into the mix, one was a character remesh as Borderlands 2 characters; I run the trainer, it activates at the main menu but doesn't seem to work in-game. I use a keyremap text with the trainer, and I remade it just for the occassion, there's only a few keys. I remade it again with different key substitutions, but still nothing. Does anyone know if MODs interfere with the trainer? Thanks.

Source mod's usually don't replace exe files, therefore the trainer should work (if it isn't outdated). Have you run the trainer without mods?

it was a self update trainer you need too look at the instructions on how too get it going
This trainer has been updated to include a self updating module. If the game patches, you can update the trainer to the new patch using this trainer without having to download a new trainer.
Steps to updating trainer:
1) if this is the first time you are running the trainer, the program will likely pop up a window stating "Missing Data File". Simply press ENTER on your keyboard and after several moments it will complete by opening a window saying "FINISHED". Simply press enter and then re-run the trainer and then while you are within the action part of the game press F1 to activate the trainer. A file called CHLFD2.dat is created in the same directory as your trainer. This file is created and used by the trainer for the current version of the game you are playing.
2) if the game has patched and the trainer is no longer working for it or crashes the game, you will need to update the .dat file. Simply delete the CHLFD2.dat file. Next close your game and re-launch the game. While in the action part of the game, start the trainer and follow the instructions in 1) above to update the .dat file to the current patch.
3) that's all there is to it! Please make sure you are activating the trainer while the action part of the game is going. It may not work at the main menu.
4) you must have the .dat file with the trainer in the same directory at all times that you want to use the trainer. You do not need to delete it unless the game has patched. Deleting the .dat file will cause the game to create a new one.

This kinda of question was ask on another game not to long ago.
Mods do not usually effect the games exe file. Only type of mods that do are the ones that are made to change the exe or if they are game overhaul mods to that could effect the exe to. So make sure its the right version test with mods then test with out. See what happens.
You should be fine if its normal mods.

What? I never heard that before. When I've tried in other games to activate after the main menu it never worked. You sy it will in L4D2? I'll try that. Yes, the trainer is updated/self-updating, thanks. I can still play without it, it's just I really use the infinite ammo as a way to better enjoy the game, especially grenades/pipe bomb-thingies. Thanks for comments!
