If you don't like steam then get a dehumidifier cause its here to stay
I could not agree more.

Not necessarily. Everything must come to an end at some point.
Continual improvement, and an honest desire to improve the platform? Yeah, lots of room for hate when it comes to Steam.
Go use Origin, then contemplate what the gaming world would be like if EA had pioneered digital distribution instead of Valve. If that's not a scary thought, I don't know what is.
Great point. Steam is is so much better. Valve is constantly trying to improve itself and if you wait for the sales you can get great games on the cheap.
Ok maybe I should be more specific. The new cheats for X-Com wont work, moreover, the interface with the patched X-com wont work for me the mouse keeps going the the edge of the board.
The game worked just fine a couple months ago now the game and the cheats just suck.
I am sorry I wish STeam would just go away.

So instead of being glad the devs actually look after their game, you whine and moan because you can't cheat? Then, on top of that, you go whining about one of the top digital distribution methods?
Have you tried, y'know, running XCom without a trainer to see if the issue goes away? Removed any mods? Tried other PCs? Followed the CH troubleshooting guide before making a post whining about Steam?
I'm sorry for what I'm gonna say and if I get punished, so be it, but....
Do people's lives really revolve around ... cheats? Seriously? Let's say Valve releases HL2 Ep 4 and finds a way to VAC ban anyone who uses a trainer or memory editor (which they won'd to, at least for SP), will you be back on here crying 'zomg i hate steam cos i cant cheat' then?
Steam is the publisher, the distributor (and Valve is the dev, but they aren't playing favorites). It's the devs who code the games, who actually put them together. The publishers, well, publish stuff.
You are coming off as somebody who bought a new Ford and now hate your local Ford dealer because your home burned CDs won't woek in the car's stereo system.
Best case scenario, you find your own workaround for it. Worst case, you move on to another game.
