also, somehow I don't trust that this doesn't mean a crap ton of patches.

I am actually glad they are doing this because maybe when the real game drops there won't be a ton of patches THEN. also, it may be that they completely hide or package all the script files then. so if that happens then likely there won't be a trainer either.

I follow your instruction in activating the trainer. But when I play the game the screen goes to the usual loading screen then bam I get a black screen. Please help.

Looks like it has been finale released. Are you guys gonna wait and see if they are going to update it too often or is there gonna be a trainer released soon?

It's finally been 'released' however given it's track record I would certainly give it a week (at least) to just make sure before going to the effort of yet another trainer.

In the meantime just enjoy the game in it's natural state.

No need for a trainer. There is a testing tool available that also functions as a trainer (e.g. god mode, super speed, unlimited building etc.). It is available from the kleien entertainment forum. Essentially, it is a mod that gives special cheat options for modders.
