0x90, I don't see how my AV/Firewall would've cause WinRAR to tell me the file is corrupted, and there were no apparent issues downloading...however following your obviously Godly instructions appears to have resolved the issue.

It does it because the AV scans the archive and deletes the file inside it automatically without asking the end user what to do nor notifying the end user of what it did. Your archive software will recognize this missing data as a corrupted archive.
I've never had compatibility issues following this guide for computer security with the exception of the EMET section (I have not tested following it so would recommend skipping it).
