I ordered Assassin's Creed 3 Standard edition from steam and well buy the season pass if the Assassin's Creed 3 Standard edition is good!..
I'm hoping it's nothing like assassin's creed revelations, which I never played but read bad things about!..
I bought AC2 and AC brotherhood during a Steam AC sale and would of put that off if I had known the digital deluxe edition would give you 50% off older AC games!..
The steam AC sale was a month ago and it was probably 70% off

:Not to be confused for the above poster, Hard8:
Give AC:R a shot. I've played through three times now. I wasn't expecting much from it either, based on reviews- but when I called it a night, my wife took over and got all the assassins up to level 10's for me.
P.s. She's not a gamer, so that should help you decide whether or not to play- she loved it and is waiting to see 3.

I think Amazon has plans on a special AC bundle for black friday. You may get a season pass for cheap that way.

I own all of the AC titles, but have as yet to finish one of them. The first one is awesome, but I have never played it all the way through. It seems that every time I start it I find another game to become addicted to and get distracted. I have never even started up AC 2, Brotherhood, or Revelations even though I own them all. They always keep getting set aside for other new games. At this point I think it is because I have to play them all through in order, and the original title is getting a bit old now. That being said, I loved what I have played in the first game so much that I have purchased all of the newer titles as well. That all being said, I guarantee that I will purchase AC 3, but at this point I know I might as well wait. For by the time I get around to playing it; a)it and all DLC will be available for one low price in a Steam sale, and b) AC 5 is likely to be released at that same time! I really need to prioritize these games as I know they are awesome even though I have only played a portion of the first game.
That is the smartest thing I have ever heard anyone say about anything. -P. Griffin

Shouldn't you all be more concerned with what version to get that will have CH trainers? :P I thought of purchasing from Greenmangames (they have the cheapest pre-orders), but am very reluctant due to fear of missing on the trainer, and encountering a crappy download system.

GMG either gives you a desura or steam key, im sure they tell you which before you buy.
But UBIsoft titles require the capsule system to be used, but don't worry it will update the same as if from other sources and/or steam.
