Hello everybody, I sincerely hope you guys are still out there playing and modding this game... It's awesome!

I would really love to get my hands on those definitions for the st_attr_db... I've figured out some of the numbers myself but I am far from getting to where you guys seem to be at.

    Cheers!

    Hi Insanely Me,

Good news. I've got very large document with a list of what numbers means. it will take some editing but theres much to learn. It would be great if you could share what you've learned as well.

    Keep in touch.

    Kind Regards,

    Gere

    Hey CCT_Wolf,

Actually I know of a couple of ways. You can use a save file editor to actually have all 1st LT if you like.. though that would be annoying cos you dont have any rockets. On the plus side.. you can have Majors, Colonels etc. but you dont get suits with them. Having a bunch of 3rd LT cos then you get the best of everything pretty much. I've done it so I have every member of my team in a suit. makes for a bit of extra fun.

Have a look on one of my posts on the page, it explains how to achieve. If you still cant figure it out, let me know and i'll walk you through it.

ps.. the other way you can acheive it is through the experience modification... but you wont be able to rank up everyone.

    Kind REgards,

    Geremy

Hi there, i'm also trying to figure out some numbers for this game, i'm interested in weapons modding, so if you got any idea about numbers in st_weaponmods, please email me at

    [email protected]

i'm also trying to change experience gained from bugs (i think there is too much of experience in this game and your troops get max exp way too early) and also change monster's movement speed. These two changes look much easier anyway, because of comments in the file

If anyone interested I am working right now at editing every single mission. The main thing is i am trying to make the game as hard as possible but still balanced. More bugs/hole more ammo boxes around every lvl. After the job is done i am planning to post a link to archieve with all changed files, so you can replace it in your game and try it on the hard mode) Feel free to suggest.

    Hi Gere,

How do you change the number of troops you can occupy each rank and increase the number of upgrade points?

    Hey Man,

They are both a good question. I've been analysing numbers etc to figure out what specific numbers control the upgrade points for quite some time now and unfortunately, I report having little success. I've looked at every file and every number to try and figure it out and still haven't made any head-way. If you try exploring, let me know how you go with it.

To change the number of troops that can occupy each rank... theres a bit of a work around. I haven't figured out how to do it directly, but there is a way you can get a few more seargents and a few more corporals. I've done some heavy editing on this and still haven't manage to crack the specific numbers that control the number of troops that can occupy a rank.

Now, if you want to have two more seargents and three more corporals on top of the normal three for each, follow these steps:

    1. By now you probably know how to increase experience (theres a lot of descriptions around that say change the 15 to something like 200.. well change it to 15000 n that will be enough for this. the specific line you are changing relates only to warrior bugs, there is a line for workers, spitters, royals, brain, etc etc..

    2. Play through the first mission and make sure everyone has been ranked up. You should after the first mission have:

    1 x 1st lieutenant
    1 x 2nd lieutenant
    1 x 3rd lieutenant
    3 x Seargent
    3 x corporal
    3 x lance corporal

    3. In the next mission, you will rescue J company (or whoever they are) which includes a seagent and 2 corporals from memory.. as well as a few other PFC. At the end of this mission, your ranks should looks something like:

    1 x 1st lieutenant
    1 x 2nd lieutenant
    1 x 3rd lieutenant
    4 x Seargent
    5 x corporal
    6 x lance corporal
    1 x PFC

    4. In a later mission, Seargent Nixon will join your squad as well so you will have 5 seargents.

Thats the only work around I've found for it. I've figured out a lot to do with the code behind the game through a lot of trial and error. So if you want anything further I might be able to help - like giving all troopers armor (even without a suit) or getting suits from the first level onwards (only for ranked troopers though).

I've tried finding the numbers that relate to how many troopers you can get for each mission, but no success yet. If you figure out this let me know too. Also, I've learned how to give any trooper (including PFC) any weapon as well as a tone of other things. Happy to keep exploring as well! This is an all time favourite game of mine, I really enjoy editing it.

    Kind Regards,

    Gere

If you still remember, can you tell me how to change amount of XP getting from killing bugs?
