Numpad 1: Super Movement - when on the main map, the unit selected will
have alot of moves if you press this key. Press again to set
    the moves back to normal.

Numpad 2: Super Unit - when on the main map, the unit selected will

bonuses. In essence this unit is invincible. Press again on
that same unit to set it back to normal.

Numpad 3: Fill XP - when on the main map, if you press this key the
unit's XP will be filled. You will need to earn some legitimate
XP to actually level up the unit normally. Press again and
the XP will reset to zero.

Numpad +: Level Up - when on the main map, the unit selected will
    level up.

Numpad -: Level Down - when on the main map, the unit selected will
    level down.

Numpad 4: Heal Unit Battle - when in the battle screen, there is a row
of portraits on the left side of the screen which indicates
which unit can attack next. Mouse over the portrait until you
see that unit's HP. Press this key to reset the unit's health
to full. You may have to mouse away and come back to see it has
changed. Note that the health of the actual unit on the screen
(not the portrait) may not show these changes, but they HAVE
    occurred.

Numpad 5: Weak Unit Battle - when in the battle screen, there is a row
of portraits on the left side of the screen which indicates
which unit can attack next. Mouse over the portrait until you
see that unit's HP. Press this key to drop the unit's health
to low. You may have to mouse away and come back to see it has
changed. Note that the health of the actual unit on the screen
(not the portrait) may not show these changes, but they HAVE
occurred. You can use this on enemy units as well.

Numpad 6: Add Gold - while on the main map, mouse over the Gold value
on the top of the screen and press this key. Next, double
click on the Gold to open up the Ledger. Close the ledger and
you will see that the value has increased.

Numpad 7: Add Mana - while on the main map, mouse over the Mana value
on the top of the screen and press this key. Next, double
click on the Mana to open up the Ledger. Close the ledger and
you will see that the value has increased.

Numpad 8: Add Population - while on the main map, double click on the
City portrait and then click the DETAILS button. You can see
the population amount. Press this key and then click CLOSE.
Open the DETAILS again and you can see it has increased.

Numpad 9: City Essence - while on the main map, double click on the
City portrait and then click the DETAILS button. You can see
the Essence amount. Press this key and then click CLOSE.
Open the DETAILS again and you can see it has increased. This
option may not work if you don't have any to begin with.

Numpad *: City Grain - while on the main map, double click on the
City portrait and then click the DETAILS button. You can see
the Grain amount. Press this key and then click CLOSE.

option may not work if you don't have any to begin with.

Numpad 0: City Materials - while on the main map, double click on the
City portrait and then click the DETAILS button. You can see
the Materials amount. Press this key and then click CLOSE.
Open the DETAILS again and you can see it has increased. This
option may not work if you don't have any to begin with.

F11 Key: Capital City Research - while on the main map, double click on
the City portrait. Leave the mouse over the portrait until
you see the Research bonus value for that city. Press this key
and then move your mouse to the overall Research Value at the
top of the screen. Double Click there to open up the research
screen. You will see it has increased. Each press adds more.
If you get more than 10000 it will reset back to 1. You can
also enter the DETAILS screen of the Capital City and CLOSE
it to reset the value back to normal. This option should
only be used on the Capital City.

F12 Key: City Prestige - while on the main map, double click on
the City portrait.
This option won't work
if there isn't any Prestige Bonus already from that city.

Super Unit option works only for first character in a group. I couldn't get it working for any other character in the group.

I expect that the unit options for the trainer work in much the same way as the cheat options the game can be set up to use. They only affect the 'leader' of an army. If you want to level up a unit in an army that isn't the 'leader' you'll have to remove them from that army group and level them indepentanlty. It's slow yes, but that's the way the game is set up. I expect that the trainer functions much like that. I haven't tried it yet. If the trainer doesn't work the way you thought it would, it is likely due to the way the game is designed and NOT a fault of the trainer.

As for materials you can use the built in cheats. They are, so far, the same as the cheats from the first game. The message board for that title does contain a 'cheats' topic that can be used to find out how to make them work. I may come back and add a comprihensive list for this game. If someone wants to beat me to it, then go ahead. I'm lazy, so I probably wont do it any time soon.

I may have missed it but I didn't see any cheats for materials in the Elemental cheats section. UPDATE: I had missed it...Ctrl+M adds 1000 to all resources, according to the list. So, Ctrl+M works to add resources...making the pesky crystal problem a thing of the past...

BTW, very nice work on the trainer...it works as advertised with no dramas at all...very impressed.
