Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Message Board  

Just wondering what kind of armor you can give Serana.... I already gave her some Light armor but she will take a heavy shield. I want to go and smith some custom stuff for her but don't want to waste my time smithing stuff she won't use. Anyone know what she will/won't use?

I gave her some enchanted vamp gloves, enchanted vamp boots, a enchanted ring and necklace. She wore those items although sometimes she would revert back to her default unenchanted vamp boots, then mysteriously she'd soon later have her enchanted ones on. She never equiped the enchanted vamp armor I gave her although I had it smithed to legendary (also blacksmithed the gloves and boots to legendary). I also gave her a very nice ebony dagger and daedric sword... she preferred to use her spells, on rare occasions she would equip the sword as we sneaked around, but usually reverted right back into spell casting as soon as there was a fight.

However, she did just fine with her own armor and only went to kneel (near death) a couple of times during some heavy fighting.

*she never equipped any helmet I gave her, I assume because she has a scripted hood she wears in daytime.

she would wear any armor i gave her including helmets. i usually keep her in full legendary daedric without the shield. she wont use any weapon you give her during a fight but she will keep it equipped when shes not fighting. she will only revert back to her original apparel if i drop her as a companion, as with any follower.
