I don't suppose any of you have managed to mod the game or know how to do so?

I can't find how to make the game use extracted files from the SPK instead of the SPKs, or how to properly compress the extracted&modified files back into those archives.

And the Internet isn't exactly replete with information on the subject of modding games from this engine (Spiders Silk game engine apparently).
