anyone else think the game would do well with more unit types?
the manta and walrus fill every role very well, and the upgrade system is great.
I am just thinking more unit types would be fun. throw in some jets, heavy tank types that need to be lifted to shore, maybe even infantry platoons (the game DOES do on foot missions, so it's there) that you deploy with landing boats, mobile artillery units, etc.
just a thought

check out a game called "Hostile Waters".
I do agree with what you say but as a remake of the "80's classic", they couldn't just change the formula that much.
Still, knowing bohemia, they always leave some room for modding.
Now if only they fixed the dammned walrus pathfinding.

I just hate losing Mantas way too quickly :/ Not sure if the mouse controls could use tweaking or not? Or it's just me lol.

mantas need to be used a specific way. i went through a lot of them before i figured that out.
they are best used on individual targets, then recalled as soon as that target is dispatched. at least that is how they work best for me.
once you hook them up with some mk2 armour they become a little more durable and can be used as a general strike fighter.
also a manta with plasma weapon and rockets is a scary thing to behold.
and yeah, the mouse controls are way to floaty. i have lost more than a few just by over correcting with the mouse

As has been stated by the dev's for the game. Its staying as true as possible to the original Carrier Command game, and that game only had 2 units, and so this game also has only 2 units. They didnt have 2 units because they wer lazy or anything, they just wanted to bring the same 1988 game enjoyment, to modern gamers.

Really liked the first one and it was released even before i was born. Does the enemy carrier still go faster than a manta?
