Very addictive game. It starts out easy but gets tough just a little later. A trainer would behoove us all Pretty please?

No spoilers, but that last boss fight is a throw back to the good old days of getting your rear end whooped.
That was just insane.

The boss's final battle, that goes under impossible. Even with a trainer I doubt I'd beat that one, nearly impossible shields, slaughtering my crew as soon as I beam them aboard...

i read on their forums about how you need a certain composition of weapons in order to defeat the end boss

CoSMOS has this working if you have about 10 minutes you can get it to work for a given play-through though the addresses change each time so I'm guessing the trainer may be harder to make than for almost any other game really, though yes the final boss on easy is really hard and on normal I am yet to beat it

I have managed to defeat the boss on normal by using the engi cruiser and just using as much shield and engine as possible to avoid damage. For offense I used Teleport Bomb, Ion weapon and Lots of offensive Robots. Worked quite well.
Oh, For the first fight I also used the teleport to TP one bug guy into one of the weapon rooms. Since they are cut off from the rest of the ship they are quite vulnerable for a attack like that. Just be sure to get your crew back on board before the boss flees...
Edit: And I am going to guess from the deletion of my previous post that the posting of trainers isn't allowed? I guess we can assume there is going to be a FTL trainer then. :v

Not true, it's all about luck and timing.
Minor spoiler: If you have a fully upgraded cloak/teleproter, plus Mantis, it doesn't really matter what weapons you have as you can pretty much shut down the first boss form from within.
EDIT: Okay, if you kill ALL the crew members on the final boss ship, it reverts to an AI ship, i.e. auto repair. So, leave one crew member alive and keep beating down the weapons rooms that are incassible. Easy strategy then!
I'm unsure if fire counts as damage however, I've read sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I hate, hate, HATE the Engi cruiser, I always manage to screw up more with that ship than the Kestrel.

Managed to cheat with Art Money (can cheat just about anything that got numbers in the game). However, it seems to change from game to game and ship to ship, have to redo it for each time.
