this game is fantastically fun but better than GTA ? as bored as i am with GTA i still say its way more involved way more rendering, intricate, complex than sleeping dogs. just the fact that you have the flying aspect in GTA makes it twice as complex from a 3D rendering aspect.but even with that said i love this game sleeping dogs and it has gripping story line that keeps you hooked. i give it a solid 8 to 8 1/2 on a 10 scale

Havn't played it yert and after looking on steam I think i'll wait as there are ALREADY 6 'DLC' packs released after less than a week for stupid things such as 'hairstyles, clothes, reputation boosts' Blatant money sponging or what by the developers / publishers.

where will this end - GTA 15 where you have to buy a DLC pack to even be able to drive a car, then another to ride a bike??

It's stuff like the above that leads me to only buy games that I REALLY want and wait for other titles that interest me at a later date when a 'complete' version is released.

There are no dogs found in the game... not even sleeping dogs!

I'm glad this game isn't like Mafia 2 cuz I would get so bored like I did with Mafia 2, having to run back and forth to reclaim territories I just got back 10 minutes ago.

Silly man, you find no dogs because they -are- all sleeping safe and sound at home.

This game just rocks! its fcking amazing! combat system is uber and when you lv yourself you can even find those +hp lights/totems on ya map its a very easy game but not boring at all i have the high graph pack... this game got no lags and is uber smooth.. well finally 1 of the future games that got no bugs.. atleast i dindt find 1 yet . only the only thing is what i find sometimes irritating but it doesnt say do not buy is that if your in any car or on a motor the cam to look around it is well to sensitive.. so you have to get used to that a little. so i use my skill to not too much around or else its like your in a wirlhwind lol. well ok the cam of driving something is a little bug hope they fix that.

but the game itself is just AMAZING 💛

Anyone else think the game was too short? I had a blast with it while it lasted, just didn't seem all that long. Hopefully they have some DLC to expand on the story.

techno, I've been feeling all games have been too short for about ten years now, probably longer. They're just so much shorter than games in the 90's were. The game was longer than some other new ones I've played recently, but not by much. Lets hope future DLC adds many hours more of quests.

To the people annoyed about the DLC with Sleeping Dogs; hush now, be calm.

For starters, they announced before it was released that there was a lot of DLC coming, so it's no surprise that in the game's second week of release there are a few packs out.
Secondly, all the packs are fluff (Apart from the supremely minor and cheap retro triad pack, which adds some rather camp hair and an outfit from a bad 80's music video. Oh, and a crappy van). Literally everything else in the DLC is already available in-game; it's essentially paying for cheats, and they even clearly state on the DLC itself in Steam that all of it is already available through normal game progression, so it's not even as though they're trying to trick people out of their money.

How is this a problem for anyone? By not buying it, you miss out on nothing. If some people want the packs, sure, let them, it's pennies anyway, and all the more money for the publishers/devs. Some games that get released with day 1 DLC that contain actual CONTENT, like a full character and their storyline, or a weapons pack etc, those are really poor form (And increasingly common). That kind of DLC is nothing but blatantly chopping out proper game content and selling it for extra, and should be frowned upon by all.

Selling what are essentially cheats to people who, for whatever reasons want them? There is no problem here, more power to them. Any DLC that comes out in a month or so from now with proper content should be relatively exempt from people chelping, considering how it was worked on after the game was released.

In terms of the game itself, I love it. My first playthrough, doing the main storyline and about 1/3 of the extras took me about 25 hours, which is a little short by open world standards, but I enjoyed every minute of it. There are a few niggling problems that bug me, such as should you ever want a gun after you've collected all the drop boxes, you have little choice but to go and beat on some police. They can (And most probably will) fix this with either DLC or mods to, let's say add a gun locker to your apartments or something, so it shouldn't be an issue for too long. The melee combat is so well done and brutally satisfying, that I can understand why guns were a thing of lesser importance to them.

Other than that, solid game, excellent melee combat, amazing voice acting, superb plot, good driving, acceptable gunplay with only very minor clunky camera controls when in tight spaces, all add up to one of the few games I've pre-ordered in the past year and not immediately regretted doing so upon release.

This game, to me, is the odd, pleasantly surprising three-way love child of GTA 4, Mafia 2 and Jade Empire, and for that reason alone, you should check it out.
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull****
