I agree on the vagueness.
Besides how did Shephard find himself in this jungle that's mentioned? Last time I checked he was on top of the citadel choosing to die in an explosion, electrical shock or a beam of light. Sounds like a corny game show to me.
Even if this got released doesn't make it right. The fact that they screwed up the story in the first place was enough.
I mean you screw up a perfect game and a trilogy with a significant fan base and then you release DLCs to fix it. Really?
If BioWare really knew it's fans it wouldn't make such stupid endings to begin with.
Well there the ones that make the game. Bro its there call. If there happy with the endings that there call. In there eyes then they are going by what the story line is done as. (Note I aint backing up bioware even tho I like them, I just know how the story board system works, due to my course and study work). If there told no happy ones thats how it will go.
Regardless of anyone's opinion on DLC, there's one solid fact which remains. They need to pay the people who write and create the DLC, they have to pay the voice actors (who're almost as bad as real actors these days) and for any motion capture they use.
The simple fact is DLC will always cost money. You'll notice that any DLC which is free, is only available to people who paid for a more expensive version of the game, or it includes only items, playable content, etc. No voice or new motion or whatever.
Monkey, you have to realise though that DLC has become a big part of games these days, and most developers will have a team entirely separate from the main team working on the game, who'll be working on ideas for DLC long before the game goes gold, which is why some DLC is released so soon after the main games' release. I wouldn't take any stock in that picture at the moment though. Although you can guarantee there'll be item packs.
And just before anyone decides to take this as my consent and approval for DLC, I'll just say that whether or not I like the idea of DLC and whether or not I'll buy it entirely depends on the game, the situation and the quality of said DLC.
As a note for everyone else, let's keep anything to do with your opinions on the endings in the other ridiculous topics.
I know and you're right. Times be changing and all that. Don't know about you, but to be honest, the Large Expansion Pack era was a bit more to my liking.
Believe me I never expected the DLC for ME3 to be really cheap or given out for free. The item packs give nothing memorable to the game and are the only DLC that I can tolerate simply because... well, it almost doesn't get more optional than that.
But, big J (Javik), from Ashes DLC. €10 to make it yours, or get it free on the Collector´s edition.
The normal ME3 costs around €50, and the collector´s €60-70.
I don't think I need to spell out what happened there, and the From Ashes DLC is most certainly not an optional DLC.
Heck, I got it for 'free' and it still bothers me.
Ah well, I'll stop now... Figure I've gone on long enough.
You know Javik really dose not add much that I have seen so far. I have talked to him dose not really give much insight into the prothies. I have not used him for missions tho just to used to Garrus and Liara
I gotta agree on this one. Javik is nice to talk to and he does expand a little (and I stress little) to the history of the Protheans, but he doesn't actually add all that much.
If anything, I'd say the only thing he really does is prove all of our pre-conceptions about the Protheans wrong. If I'd bought the standard version of ME3, and played From Ashes on a friends copy, I don't actually think I'd buy it myself.
