Bioware ripped me off first w/ Dragon Age 2. Then I got ripped off buying ID's Rage. Then I got ripped off again w/ this game by buying 80 dollar collector edition.
What I learned so far:
1. Don't trust what developers say in a tech interview, no matter how awesome it may sound (RAGE TECH DEMO w/ John Carmack).
2. Developers use hype to sell their next product that are 10 times smaller and less 'content' friendly than their previous one (DA 2).
3. Developers use HYPE (once again) to sell a game that you wish would be longer, more in-depth, and more detailed. (Bioware's ME3).
Another one would be Neverwinter Nights 2 (compared to NW1, this one is crappy.)
I will not buy any more Bioware product unless the game comes out, I read 20-30 reviews to filter out the general good and bad; then watch 20-30 videos on YT to see what it really has, THEN I'll decide if it is worth it.
The trick they pull of now a days are:
- High quality CG cutscenes to get your blood pumping going faster.
- Lots of trailers to show what to expect (but on the contrary, not even much)
- Put DLC as separate items (which are no more than few MG or KB in size) and then charge you 10-20 bucks for that in so called 'collector's edition' crap.
If Bioware needs to know something to fix their ***t, then they need to do 2 things:
1. Don't work w/ EA (EA is famous for f-ing up developers' personal work. They destoryed Westwood, BullFrog and few other good studios in this way).
2. Learn from European developers like CDPROJEKT (yeah Witcher is an RPG and as such, it is billion times better than ME trilogy).
Overall, I think the whole game industry is dying here b/c there are too many retards who buy whatever the devs make and throw at them w/o looking in-depth at the contents (yeah, F**ktivision, I'm talking about you now).
These the the summary I've come up w/ after playing ME3 and other games and watching the gaming industry trend for the last few years.
I say, be patient, let the game come and calmly decide what to buy or not.
Would not call The Witcher series better then the Mass effect trilogy, but it is a really good game series as well, and they did release dlc for there game for free, but they also needed to do something to bring back people to the game due to the combat issues and very few rigs where witcher 2 ran flawlessly on from the get go, so they made some dlc content.
Mass effect 3 was good in my book, none of that end credits slap me over the head with choices i made or a pat on the back, you see Joker escapeing with the normandy that is the one thing i found odd, so im inclined to believe the indoctrination theory, and the part where you see shepard breath heavily and it cuts off might be when he snaps out if it.
Hope they release a DLC in a few weeks or a patch saying what did you think we would make such an ending(wishfull thinking i know), but i dont hate bioware for this ending because the purpose of my Shepard was too save the galaxy from the reapers and i did that, but i did like the ending where the old man on the planet where Joker crashed on tells the child about the legendary Shepard .

Shepard will take control of the Bear lastly.
Do you really want a Reaper controlled bear with a Chainsaw running around?

Would you rather have a Reaper in a pink tutu controlling Shepard and wanting to take him home to meet his mother?
I was thinking about this earlier - the ending, not Reapers in pink tutu's - and I figured that if you go with the Destroy option, you'll be killing far more than EDI and the Geth. The Guardian says that anything synthetic will die, including Shepard because of all the cybernetics keeping him alive.
I imagine by that point in the future there's a whole lot of people in the Galaxy with cybernetics helping keep them alive - most probably won't be as extensive as Shep, but still - so you'll basically be condemning them to death too.
