Finished playing ME3 minutes ago... absolutely the most poorly written game ever. Besides the slow motion, boring & meaningless dream sequences. The ending was complete and total BS. What a complete cop out. I feel ripped off.

I'm half tempted to post every spoiler detail I can think of. including the fact that the game builds us up to care about Shepard and individual members of her crew... every single one of which (including Commander Shepard) is KILLED OFF!

Of course, the Reapers are destroyed... but by the time that happens EVERYONE we care about in the game is DEAD!

What an incredible disappointment... what a rip!

Well depending on your war assets they don't all necessarily die during the ending sequence. However, considering the circumstances of those left alive they might have well died. A gigantic interstellar fleet that can longer travel out of the sol star system seems to be a "fail" in my opinion. Unless Bioware waves their hand to create a new method of interstellar travel in a few months after the relays' destruction.

I definitely agree the ending feels a bit cheapened to be funneled by the plot line into a "press a button" "pick a door" ending. I preferred the ME2 ending where along the way your choices impacted who lived and died at certain steps. I never noticed the same type of behavior during the ME3 ending sequence.

I thought ME1 was okay - I didn't finish it as I bought it on XBox and it was so buggy I grew tired of the freezing. However, it was decent enough that I bought ME2 collector's, and I didn't regret it whatsoever.

I expected ME3 to be a vastly superior game, but throughout the game I'm noticing issues with lip syncing, vanishing characters, textures/artifacts that vanish and reappear, and a lot of graphical issues that detract from the game.

Not only that, but a lot of the results of the decisions made in the previous two games are present throughout the main campaign, yes, but many of them seem short attempts to just tie up the threads before the finale. I have yet to finish the game, but seeing Jack in a single mission and in a bar, watching characters die off, it just seemed half-arsed.

But the part that killed me was this:

    Spoiler:
Kelly Chambers. You see her, ask her to join your ship, think that it's all done and over with. Then because I didn't choose to tell her to change her identity, I overhear a group of refugees talking about how she'd died.

After the trouble of saving the Normandy SR2's crew in ME2, killing off a likable character like this just seemed wrong.

Mind you, I'm not a writer. I'm going for programming and 3D animation. But to me the whole game seems very rushed. I somewhat wished they'd put more effort into it. Whether this meant that certain threads would be tied up with DLC or the game release date were pushed back, I'd have had a much warmer reaction to the game either way. Knowing Bioware's past, I think I'll blame EA for the issues, though.

As I was playing, the first Shepard dream sequence dragged on forever... and it was boring as hell. I mean, so some little kid died while Shepard watched, helpless to do anything about it. But then we are subjected to a long, boring, drawn out angst ridden dream sequence. And then to make matters worse, it's repeated later in the game.

Ok... and we find out at the end that the little kid is the avatar for the Reapers. So Shepard should have killed him already... but no. He gets to decide Shepard's choices at the endgame. Gimme a break!

The ending alone was enough to make me want to give up computer games for the rest of my life. ME3 really, really SUX!

Yes, because punishing us by posting every spoiler you can will totally tell BioWare what you think of them.

It sounds like you got one of the crummy endings. I haven't played the game, let alone finished it, but I've read enough to know that in the "good" ending, you have no idea if your crew is dead or not. It's like saying ME2 was the worst game ever when you got the bad ending because everyone but Joker died.

I'm sorry, opinions are one thing, but when you say that a game is the worst ever because it's not a happy fluffy story with a heroes ending is just silly.
"Remember the good old days when you could just slap Omni-Gel on everything?" - Shepard, ME2

"Not right now. Trying to determine how Scale Itch got aboard. Sexually transmitted disease carried only by Varren..... Implications unpleasant." - Mordin, ME2

I just finished it myself. They boy was just a boy, Either Shepard saw that because his brain went to that particular figure (The boy represented all the people that died that he could not save, and his guilt over it.) or the reaper creator, which I refer to as "god" went with that particular choice, because it would make it more recognizable and benign to Shepard...

    That's one point.

Yes, I agree, the choices sucked. Die, die or um Die. But I was expecting that you see. Shepard has always been willing to sacrifice him or herself to save people. This case is no different.

I myself went with Symbiosis. (The middle option) and the ending, despite the mass relays being destroyed, was not bad. Sure Joker and EDI and a few others, (ashley in my case) are stranded in some planet, with plants made of organic and synthetic material. But everyone lived, and it was a "happy" ending.

At the end, you see the stargazer, he is human, therefore you know humanity survived.

I personally did not see kelly chambers. (I guess you only do if you romanced her in me2 or got her to feed ur fish or w.e)

The loose ends did feel crappy to be honest. Felt like they just tried to get everything to come full circle, regardless of how it happened.

Also did no one notice that through the entire game, you help all these people in the citadel, and the citadel defense force, and what not. and in the end, it all gets destroyed anyway? lol that was funny to me...

Anyway, now I will play FemShep, once I do Arrival with her in me2.

I will choose paragon (blue) ending this time, instead of middle.

Also if anyone got their Shepard to "breathe" at the end, what choices did you make, and how did you do it!?

    Thanks.

    -Rant over

Well as far as the program issues go, much of that will probably be fixed with patchs. At least those bugs are not really game breaking, they may take one out of the story, but not really break the game so much that one cannot play it anymore.

As far as the story goes, and the ending. I am not really sure what to feel about that. I mean that avatar being in child form was most likely just Shepard's interpretation his mind came up with as to a form. Otherwise it does feel like a bit of a cop out, and makes me feel a little sad, but I did enjoy the game nonetheless.
