So, I'm having some problems deciding what class I want to play.. well, actually I'm having really big problems..

I like bionics, but I don't want to be completely helpless vs Barriers and armor..

I like the Sentinel for the mix of tech and Bionics, but I really don't like the way tech armor looks..

I like the Infiltrator for the cloak and the time dilation when your using a sniper.

I like the adept for all the wonderful ways to blow people away.. but I'm afraid I'll be less than useful later on when Barriers and armor start appearing..

I'm split on the Vanguard.. I like the Bionics.. but so far the only reliable outcome of bionic charge is a quick death :P
Shockwave is quite nice, but same problem here as the Adept, what do I do against Armor and/or Barriers?

Haven't tried the Soldier since they don't get bionics at all..

Haven't tried Engineer because I don't think that's my class either.. don't like the drone or turret..

    Anybody have any thoughts?

Are the Vanguards as suicidal as they seem to be?
IS the Adept and Vanguard as weak as I think they are vs Barriers and Armor?

Getting really bored with the into movie and mars archive after having done it so many times..

I've even gone so far as to try and mod the classes to have the abilities I want.. but that doesn't seem to work.

if you want a sure-fire class that can deal with most enemies if played right and equipped right then shoose the soldier.

The vanguard is hard to play, as you ahve the skills, which need to be used properly and in the right situations, and you also have to fight using soldier skills and tactics. they are hard to play.

    Soldier is your best bet.

I have to agree. That's pretty much the case in any class-based RPG, though. If it can wear heavier armor and doesn't care to murder anything it's not directly pointed at, it is always the combat pragmatist's first choice.

But, as far as ME3 goes - if you're importing a level 30 (or any other level that has 21 free points) then upgrade Adrenaline Rush to tier 6 and watch your enemies weep.

If the Soldier is a bit too generic for you, then Infiltrators are basically squishier long range specialists, Vanguards are squishier close range specialists. Sentinels tend to need to be up in the enemies' faces, but Tech Armor slowing power use makes them even easier targets than Inf/Van, IMO. Adept is pretty good, but as always, is meant to do very specific things for the party in terms of their role, so that makes it harder to consistently use squaddies you just like to have around over the ones that might be a bit more useful but not totally necessary.

Engineer is a pretty good choice as well, if you don't mind playing second fiddle. The upgrades for the Sentry Turret/Combat Drone practically make them into squad members you can deploy anywhere to the battlefield. Both get stuns too, so if you want to set one of them up (build-wise, that is) to dish out tons of damage and the other to make sure nobody closes the distance, it's viable - and awesome.

Playing as a Biotic. Level 30 straight from the start.

I'm invincible... really. Not only do I carry 3 weapons and still have +127% Power Regeneration, it takes them a lot of shots to take my Barrier down. Granted, a single hit from a Brute or something bigger is a bit more dangerous (1~2-hit barrier loss), but their attacks are just too slow and have too much time in between them. Biotic explosion kills multiple lesser enemies in a single blow, and Shockwave can send stun protected enemies like the Cerberus shield guys so I can headshot them. Combat has become cooler, but also much easier.

If I want to die, I literally MUST use only my weakest pistol, ignore my powers, and never take cover.

I went with soilder on my first play-through.
And,BTW,a A soilder does have accsess to biotic power, although limited.
The replay value of ME3 is so high that you can experiment with different classes to see which one fits you best.

If you are wanting to play right away and don't want to take the time to research and experiment, then i would go with the Vanguard class. It is basically a Soilder with full access to biotic powers.

by biotic I assume you mean Adept?

I think the Soldier is a bit too generic for me.. If I run out of ammo, then what do I do? Soldiers don't get any biotics do they?

Just the different ammo types, but that requires thermal clips..

soldier was always refered to as "easy" mode in this set as it was pretty simpelt o understand.

personally i liked sentinal especially on harder modes. in ME1 and 2 the sentinals shield and biotics made it a super soldier to handle most situations and in ME2 when shield died it would exploe stunning nearby enemies and your default shield would auto recharge to 25%. with skill and survival practice you could bleed this ability so that you were never without a shield.

in ME3 the sent gets nerfed a fair amount in that the shield is more an alkidah vest int hat you get no bonus armor with it on (non i saw) and you manually have to opt to detonate it now. still though the ability to have warp and overload on 1 class means with a fire using ally as a armor back up i can break past any defence.

weapons to use to maximise cooldown and damage is upt o you but you SHOULD have a auto rifle minimum on this build for sheer covering ability when your shield is fully up (detponate as reloading)

personally i feel a sniper/rifle and pistol is all i need for this but each their own

going on quick overview of other classes i played (all these ME2 only though).
engi: good for droid/sentry but lacking in shields tbh.
adept: very strong in biotics but with a barrier not shield. i found to little enemies used attacks for a barrier that i needed a shield
vanguard: i loved vanguard but its INCREDIBLY up close with its rush and shotgun. was reasonably good on easy but on insane where an enemy wont die in 1 hit it was impossible to win any fight for me.
infiltrator: is a nice tech using soldeir and i loved using but was nto skilled enough with a sniper only to make this viable for me long term.

pretty much each class is talored to a diff play style. me i like a spec ops role in that i avoid the main brint of an attack when possible but pack enough punch to down the key military players

also a key thing to remember is to balance a party. if your a soldier get a pure tech/biotic as each party member. as a sent get a biotic/soldier on one side and a tech/soldier on the other (or do as i do and skip soldier and get pures on each side). biotics may seem natural to pair together but they really do compliment a tech very nicely.
