Sadly it was stated that this is only a trilogy.
Shepards story was only a trilogy. There's still a good possibility for another game set somewhere/time else in the ME universe.

Yeah I heard that too. They said that Shepherd's story ends with ME 3, they didn't say anything about the universe which gives room for a ME 4, with a different protagonist. Of course Shepherd will probably be remembered like a hero by the survivors.
From what I saw it basically turns the Normandy into your modern version of Noah's ark.
Now here's what I don't like. The stories revolving most of the ME 2 characters and some of the characters from ME 3 did not conclude and their deaths haven't been confirmed yet. It is not known whether the Normandy picked them up or not.
So that might mean that most of them died and frankly if they were killed after having a big history with Shepherd BioWare can kiss my ass. I did not do all those loyalty missions, saves and fights just so I can see them die one sequel later.
Also what's up with the Citadel being caught so easily? I mean were there any survivors or did the whole Citadel just die? All 14 million people not to mention the refugees just died?
We, the fans, should have urged Karpyshyn and Casey to actually change the story in ME 1 into one where Commander Shepherd dies on the first mission on Eden Prime and we assume the role of Sovereign and start conquering the galaxy and eventually wiping out all organics.
Or should I say "harvesting" them. That way when the whole galaxy explodes, we will actually know that we did the right thing and we completed our objective.
I mean if Shepherd and a lot of characters just die in the end, why the hell do such a sadistic thing and make us actually fall in love with those characters, with their quirks and interesting personalities?
Ok so Mordin died, but he was old and wanted to make peace with himself over the genophage. He helped the Galactic Alliance and redeemed himself. Good Guy Mordin.
BUT I SURE AS HELL DIDN'T WANT FOR WREX, JACK, SAMARA, KASUMI, ZAEED AND WHOEVER ELSE TO DIE!
BioWare made a disaster out of this game, most specifically the ending, but they will come under severe fire if they don't make a Mass Effect that will continue the story of those few that survived.
I do not think there will be that single player game. I think there going to go MMO.
Nice nice, murdering everything I loved about ME in one move. Bravo BioWare, bravo!
Servius is right. This is the end.
No Mass Effect 4. No continuation of the remaining characthers stories,no matter who is left alive.
I don't even think think bioware is planning on expanding the ME universe,(IE;Dragon Age)
MABYE,just Mabye,An MMO loosely based in the ME universe.
Bioware have said from day one this is the story of Shepard ans is a trilogy.

Doubtful on the "no ME4" bit. Halo had three "last" games in the trilogy - and now there's going to be a second trilogy. And we all know that EA probably wants to milk its franchises slightly more than Microsoft, seeing as it's not their main source of revenue.
To be honest though, I can see BioWare pulling a TOR. Or a Revan. And by that I mean making the franchise into an MMO and killing off the beloved player character from KotOR in a mid-game instance.
