If I get this from Direct2drive/Gamefly, will one of the trainers work? Are d2d games physically the same as a retail copy? Or can I link it to Origin to make it that version?

Just download both versions and test them. It's simple...

i have the gamefly version... you can just use the key you get in origin and it will download the one for the origin copy. (you need origin no matter what so ya.

edit: by this i meant the cd-key gamefly gives you in the client (click quick view then get product key and copy paste.) i have done this myself so i confirm this works.

Not sure if you're still having a problem, but try running the trainer as administrator. For some reason the trainer wouldn't activate for me until I ran as admin.

Right Any d2d is going to use the Orign Trainer. Ones that do not come from d2d + Orign will use the DVD Retail meaning those that install from disk! Even tho they both use orign
