i pray no mmo. wow and SWTOR is proof that MMO gets the company money but they sell their soult o do it. they loose the original story and what makes the game so interesting. if they need to expand of original model then just sell me a ipad with the story as a book, about as useful in long run.

also they said in interview after ME2 and i am paraphrasing a bit but what they said was like "mass effect was always designed to be a triology in and around cmder shepard finding and possibly defeating the reapers base don player interactions. saying this though we have been looking into many side characters stories with overlapping adventures int he same universe/time frame so do not be to supprised to see us do a future series with events that explain/get worse with some of sheperds more famous antics"

yea....enough with the MMO's. if i wanted a social experience i'd join FB. i hope they stick to SP and Co-Op when and if they continue with the ME franchise.

yea..its always been intended to be a trilogy but in my opinion only with the Shepherd story-line. there's so much to explore and do in the ME universe and i'd like to do more. probably nice to see ME move on and show Shepherd to be a legend and savior of the galaxy with giant statues on Illium and the Citadel.

    MMO Noooooooooo!

I don't really know how they'd take the game forward after ME3. Since this post is on page 9 of a thread with Spoilers I hope I'm safe to say...

At the end of ME3 Shepard dies (or lives), but all the mass relays are gone. No more jumping from distant system to system. Space travel is now basically planet to planet and within small/close star systems. Okay, let's say there's a really big star system with 10 good habitable ... no make that 20 good terraformed planets. That's a pretty small game. Most species stick together in where they colonized, so a minority species is really really a minority. That's a pretty homogenous game. Okay, now we're sitting at a small homogenous game without a way to travel quickly between distant systems unless there's cryogenics, which would just make the game take decade leaps in time. No, that won't really work well with the name "Mass Effect." No relays, no need for large mass effect fields (besides dampeners, weapons, etc.) I don't see the game Progressing after ME3.

    But, I can see 3 directions the ME franchise can head;
    1. MMO.
    2. Backstory of the main crew.
    3. Ending.

Financially I could see option 2 working well. Perhaps five or six $20 games with 10-20 hours of playtime, that give you control of Garrus, Wrex, Tali, Liara, etc. Maybe a Cerberus game with Miranda and Jacob. Something along those lines. Of course EA wouldn't price them at $20... they'd be worth $20, but EA would sell em for $40 LOL.

I just hope it doesn't go with the MMO deal. If that were the case, then my ME career would end with Shepard.

I'm pretty sure some of that should have been in spoiler tags, but ah well, since it's out in the open...

Firstly, in terms of the in-game universe. The destruction of the relays doesn't necessarily mean the end of distance travelling across the galaxy. It'll slow down significantly, sure, maybe even cause a long pause, but it won't end. Every race has access to Mass Effect fields/cores for FTL travel. It may take time since the relays are far more advanced than your standard cores, but it's entirely possible to re-create a replacement for them. Maybe not as advanced and efficient as the relays themselves, but still functional.

FTL drives could be used as a replacement for long distance travel too, it's just that ships will go from near-instantaneous travel through relays to very long-haul trips. The only issue would be fuel.

Destruction of the relays, though, doesn't mean an end to anything. Mass Effect cores will still function, as will everything else related to Mass [insert feature here].

In terms of the franchise itself I too truly hope they never move to an MMO. I loved both SW KOTOR games, but I'll never be able to experience TOR because I simply hate MMO's. Same goes for ME. I would sell my soul for more ME games, but for an MMO I'd walk away in a second and do without.

However, BW stated on several occasions that they would never implement any kind of multiplayer in a ME game, but that's exactly what they've done now. So even if they say there won't be an MMO, you can't really trust that.

Just cosmetic items really. There is no real items you can buy that makes you stronger than others.

In Wow? I thought you could buy Pets and such.

Edit: Sorry for going off-topic so much. Don't worry, I won't go into any further after this.

Is it just me, or, in images like this one, does the clothing under Garrus' armor look a little like an Alliance dress uniform?

Sorry non-FB users. It might be on the ME3 site. It'll stand out. It's of him and Liara.

Actually, I think it's just my brain getting overly excited and trying to fill the next 6 days with something to think about instead of staring at the clock willing it to move quicker.

If all of the mass effect relays are gone and long distance travel is tenuous at best it would be a good way of starting a new trilogy...

It does indeed. Officer's uniform collar.

    Who knows.

Regarding future games. (IF!) the relays are destroyed, they've already had the technology to rebuild them, or at least how to recreate one.By destroying the reapers, they could use their technology to learn new ways of travel, and be able to rebuild the relays.

An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.

Yes it is. Also if all the gates are destroyed. How do they go? do the go BOOM like the some people got to destroy. If so then systems are going to be destroyed in the process.
