It's not a spoiler, but I really want to know how they've incorporated side quests and such things. I mean, there's a massive army of sentient machines invading the galaxy bent on the destruction of all living life... it seems difficult to justify running around picking up packages and buying fish.

Actually yeah you make a good point there. Never thought of that at all. How will it be done and how do they plan to justify it. I can see going to get your team and get the other races to help. But little side missions. Hmmmm. Not sure.

IGN was saying that was one of the downers, that the side quest did not reflect the severity of the situation, and felt like they were there just to add hours of gameplay. Also you get side missions from just hearing conversations, and can fail them if you do not do them within a certain time slot.

It's is labeled as spoilers in a fair way. There is nothing wrong with how the topic was created. You will have to exercise better willpower to stay out if you do not want to be spoiled.

    ...don't worry i wasn't complaining. just messing around. @Drakonis: ...i looked

I think that's a problem with most RPG's which put an emphasis on urgency and severity of a situation. ME2 certainly suffered from it; Collectors rampaging through human colonies and abducting them left right and centre and will continue to do so until you to rush to save them and stop the Collectors... but there's plenty of time to roam the galaxy, planet scanning for resources and taking on missions to stop merc bands.

The loyalty missions made perfect sense for why you had to do them, but even they kind of broke the urgency and importance of your mission.

I didn't really mind it I suppose, but I figured maybe they'd found a way to make them a little more seamless.

The quests failing if you don't do them within a certain time period makes sense too, and that actually helps to rectify the situation above somewhat - messing around too long? Whoops, the planet you're supposed to do that quest on is, well, gone. It's kind of like if you do too many missions after your crew gets abducted in ME2 they'll die, but if you do it quick you can rescue them.

EDI wont be a squad member. But she will have a body etc, and be technically a temp squad member later in the game.

EDI will be a perm squad member. There are files on youtube confirming this. She's most likely taking up the Engineer class.

Also, have you guys read what's going through the Bioware Gameplay Discussion Page? People are saying that the endings for ME3 are horrible. Seems like a big uproar is coming.

Audio files don't mean anything at all to be honest. I know Anderson joins you for a mission or two, but the audio files alone and out of context might make people think he's a permanent addition.

I'm not sure how people can be *****ing about the endings already, considering the game isn't even out yet. The only thing I can think of is that they read the script which was leaked a while back. If that's the case then their arguments and complaints are redundant, since BW confirmed that they had changed the script significantly after the leak (or it was an earlier version of the script which was leaked).

But let's face it... you're facing down an army of sentient machines who have successfully wiped out all life in the galaxy every 50000 years hundreds, thousands, or maybe even millions of times before... do people seriously expect a happy ending floating on big fluffy clouds and rainbows? Sure, you may find a way to defeat the Reapers, but it's gonna come at a price.

Apparently there are some videos showing the different endings. The people who have seen them said the endings showed

    SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

    Spoiler:
There could be three endings but in all the endings Shepard is separated from his crew forever and the Normandy gets stranded on a backward planet and all relays get destroyed. So every planet is now isolated. In other words not a very happy ending.

I have not seen the endings so I do not know, also there could also be other endings. Who knows since the game hasn't come out yet. And to be honest I don't think I would mind too much if there is no "happy" ending, kind of a change for once. Of course I wouldn't mind a happy ending either.Spoiler:
