You can have a full set of Mass Effect Shepard's armor in the special delivery box located in the first village.

For those who ordered from Origin online also can have some powerful set of armor and equipments.

From what i recall, they are just armour to help you out in the beginning of the game, but are quickly replaced by other gear.

from what Totalbiscuit has said about it, it was never really balanced by other gear, it was OP pretty much all the way through, BUT I do not know if he has used it himself or is just forming and opinion based on opinion..

There is many thinks that TB has said that was fibs. Lots of folk have finally noticed it. But sadly the only ones that are louder are the cry babies.

I actually replaced this set fairly quickly. It's a good set to start with, but you find better items further on, especially with blacksmithing.
